
Laura Schwendinger was a featured composer at the XXVIII New Music Miami ISCM Festival on January 22. She has been named the 2024-25 Abravanel Distinguished Visiting Composer, and her music is being presented in a concert at the University of Utah on February 2.
New upcoming performances featuring Schwendinger’s work include a NYC premiere at Loadbang Presents: Premieres Vol. 25 and A Garden Adorned Release Event at Opera America.
Ghost Music will receive its premiere on April 5-6 in Chameleon Arts Ensemble’s concert series. Based on a text by Robert Frost, it is scored for soprano, flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano, and percussion. On May 10, Cantori New York will present a new work titled Silent Spring in their final concert of the season, based on a libretto by Ginger Strand.
