Andrew Balent’s Savage Dance is a driving, primitive dance of an imaginary ancient people. It could have been used at a festival or large public gathering with the intention of lifting the spirits of its audience. Hand clapping adds excitement and gives an opportunity to reinforce rhythmic precision and subdivision. This work is excellent for concert, contest, or festival presentations.
