Description: Chroma I was commissioned by the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, Thor Johnson, conductor, in celebration of the orchestra’s 25th anniversary. It was premiered Nov. 9 & 10, 1970. It was also performed by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas on September 29, 1979.
