Description:

The clarinet and its ancestors are participants in the folk dances of North Africa, Greece, Scotland, Spain, and Israel. In “Dances Concertantes” the folklore is sometimes real, sometimes mythical. The theme of the Prelude is the connecting link between the different dances. It is possible that it is a moment of introspection before the whole Earth is going to dance to many rhythms, but one voice.
