“You’re Always There” was written to honor Clare Reno Allen, the composer’s wife and the mother of their seven children. She was named the 1985 American Mothers, Inc. District of Columbia Mother of the Year. This beautiful piece of music written for SATB chorus was first performed at a Tea in Claire Allen’s honor on April 10th, 1985, in Quarters One, home of the United States Army Chief of Staff, Military District of Washington, Fort Myer, Virginia, with the Army Officers Wives Club of the Greater Washington area sponsoring the event. “You’re Always There” is dedicated to American Mothers, Inc.
