Charles Tomlinson Griffes (1884-1920) was an American composer whose later works made him the most famous American to contribute to musical Impressionism, the movement associated with French composers such as Debussy. His FANTASY PIECES, Op. 6 for piano includes three works, each preceded by a poem or text: Barcarolle, Notturno, and Scherzo.
