Bad Twinkle Day

Composers:
  • Adolphe, Bruce
Detailed Instrumentation: Violin
Duration: 2
Description:

Every young violinist plays Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, and surely there are some days that practicing is just really hard – where the budding musician is having a bad Twinkle Day. This is the idea behind Bad Twinkle Day, a variation on written for the composer’s daughter Katja when she was 8 years old. While not very difficult to play, it sounds wildly jazzy and excitingly virtuosic, an appealing combination for the young violin player. Young violinists will have a blast letting loose with Bad Twinkle Day! A video of a 21-year old Katja playing the piece can be seen on the composer’s Inspector Pulse series, which is hosted by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center on their website.
