Concerto for Piano in D, Hob.XVIII: 11
Composers:- Haydn, Franz Joseph
Duration: 15
Description:
Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) composed the CONCERTO FOR PIANO IN D MAJOR, Hob.XVIII: 11 between the years 1780 and 1783. Having signed a new contract in 1779 that gave him the freedom to accept commissions from other patrons and keep the profits from the sale of his work, he struck up a relationship with the new music publishing firm Artaria. It was to this firm that he sold his last keyboard concerto, and it has since become the one performed most frequently. The final Rondo allUngherese, despite the suggestion of Hungarian influence in its name, instead makes use of a Croatian folk song.
