Founded in 1926, Edwin F. Kalmus is the oldest reprint publisher in the United States.  Previously located in Boca Raton, FL, the company was moved to Jacksonville in 2018, and sold to Keiser Productions Inc. in 2020.  In addition to the well-known and improved reprint catalog, new series and editions are also being developed.

Description:

AMERICAN PATROL was originally composed for piano by Tin Pan Alley composer Frank White Meacham in 1885.  An arrangement for wind band was published in 1891.  Glen Miller released a 78 single of the march for Victor Records in 1942.  The recording reached 15th place on Billboard that year.  Typical of the patrol format, the march depicts a military band approaching, walking past, then receeding into the distance. This 1943 arrangement for orchestra was completed by Henry Sopkin. Instrumentation: 1+Picc.1.2.1: 3Sax(AAT): 2.3.2.1: Timp:Perc(2-3): Str (3Vn(6.6.5).7.6.5).
