Founded in 1926, Edwin F. Kalmus is the oldest reprint publisher in the United States.  Previously located in Boca Raton, FL, the company was moved to Jacksonville in 2018, and sold to Keiser Productions Inc. in 2020.  In addition to the well-known and improved reprint catalog, new series and editions are also being developed.

Description:

Bohuslav Martinu (1890-1959) set down his Nonetto (Nonet) No. 2, H. 374 in January 1959, the last year of his life.  The Czech Nonet ensemble commissioned the work, giving the first performance on July 27 at the Saltzburg Festival.  One of his final compositions, it serves as a wistful time machine back to the folk traditions of the Czech village in which he was born.  Scored for a grouping of five winds and four string players, it is constructed in three short movements: 1. Poco Allegro 2. Andante 3. Allegretto. Instrumentation: 1.1.1.1: 1.0.0.0: Vn.Va.Vc.Bs.
