Description:

The French composer Jules Massenet (1842-1912) is best known for his operas. His most popular composition is the Meditation, the violin solo from his opera THAIS (1894). The violin and piano version is by Martin Marsick. ON WINGS OF SONG is from Felix Mendelssohn’s (1809-1847) popular song cycle Op 34/2. The violin transcription is by Joseph Achron. This transcription has been in the repertory of many of the great violinists past and present.
