This string trio in four brief movements was first written for two violins, cello, and harpsichord. The harpsichord part was discounted (it being the realization of a figured bass by an unknown former arranger) but the other parts were left almost exactly as Corelli wrote them. The cello part has been assigned to a third violin (or viola).
