Description: This traditional fiddle tune, with its introduction, reinforces the D minor and D major tetrachords in the left hand, as well as half and whole step patterns, extended fingerings, and curvature of the left fingers. Marcato, detaché, and fast string crossings are used to develop bowing technique. Some of the melodic string crossing challenges are “smoothed out” by being completed in all of the string parts, making the fiddling section very playable for intermediate string players.
