First Flights

In honor of the pioneers of flight, who on December 17, 1903 took to the skies in the Kittyhawk “Flyer,” Roger Cichy offers this completely engaging work for mature concert bands. This music is programmatic in nature, as we’re taken from the early morning hours through the first successful flight. There are optional parts for actors included if you’d like to incorporate a small acting ensemble to portray the drama of this historic event.
