Description: Frederic Berr, a clarinettist who frequently worked with Gioachino Rossini (1792-1868), transcribed these “6 String Sonatas” (“Sei sonate a quattro”), which the composer had originally penned for string quartet when he was only twelve years old. The Berr transcription is for a woodwind quartet of flute, clarinet, horn and bassoon, and is offered by the publisher in two volumes. Volume 1 includes Nos. 1-3.
