The QUARTET No. 1 in G minor, Op. 13, is the earliest of Carl Nielsen’s (1865-1931) four published string quartets. Completed in 1888, it is certainly a youthful work. It was premiered on March 26, 1889, at a Private Chamber Music Society performance. Reprint edition.
