Description:

STRING QUINTET IN E MAJOR, Op. 11, No. 5 was composed in 1771 by Luigi Boccherini (1743-1805). The quintet, scored for two violins, viola, and two cellos—a configuration Boccherini helped popularize—features the third-movement Minuet in A Major, with its elegant melody, lilting triple meter, and graceful charm. Today, the Minuet is widely performed both in this original chamber form and in numerous arrangements for orchestra, piano, and other ensembles. Reprint of the edition by Enrico Polo.
