With unrelenting sixteenth and leaping chromaticism, Sergei Prokofiev’s (1891-1953) Toccata in D minor, Op. 11, has become a very popular showpiece for virtuoso pianists due to its difficulty. While Prokofiev wrote the work in 1912, he did not premiere it until December 10, 1916, in Petrograd. This is a reprint edition.
