Concertpiece No. 1, Op. 11 for Trumpet and Band
Composers:- Brandt, Vassily
- Rogers, R. Mark
Duration: 9
Description:
German composer Vassily Georgivich Brandt (Willy Brandt- 1869-1923) emigrated to Russia as a teenager, where he played principal trumpet in the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra and joined the faculty of the Moscow Conservatory, and later the Saratov Conservatory, as professor of trumpet. Brandt is well know in trumpet circles as a composer of pedagogical works and short solo pieces for trumpet. This arrangement for band came about as a result of a request from Cindy Mikel, a dear friend of the arranger, when she was invited by her old high school band director to perform as a trumpet soloist at her old high school. It is with warm feelings after many years of friendship that this score is inscribed to Cindy Mikel.
