Originally conceived as a Sonata for Tuba or Bass Trombone, the orchestral version was written for The Juilliard School. It is recorded by Stefan Sanders with the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra for Albany Records. Later arranged for band the Concerto has become a contest and recital favorite.
