“Beauty and the Beastinato” is cast in two movements of contrasting character. The first movement “Beauty” is a study in lyric, legato playing. “Beastinato”, the second movement, is, as one might guess, based on ostinato figures spread among the various parts of the orchestra. The work was awarded Honorable Mention in the TODA comp. contest, 1995.
