Nathan Jones

Bio:

Nathan Jones (b. 1983) is a promising young composer originally from Oklahoma. He earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition at the University of Kansas in 2016. His works are published by Southern Music Company, Walton Music, GIA Publications, and G. Schirmer. Jones is an alum of Westminster Choir College and his choral works have been described as “a feast of succulent modern harmonies” in the American Record Guide. His piece, I would live in your love, was premiered and recorded by the Westminster Choir and Joe Miller in 2009. He is regularly commissioned by collegiate and high school choirs and bands. Additionally, Jones is the winner of the 2015 ORTUS International New Music Competition, 2016 Anthony Cuis Award, and his song cycle, “Six Qabbani Love Songs? was both an American Prize semifinalist and a 2016 NATS Art Song Competition finalist.
