Michael Brignolo

Bio:

Michael Brignolo has created arrangements for numerous college and professional ensembles, with a focus on music for winds. While earning his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Clarinet Performance at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, he also studied theory and composition, and began arranging for the UMass Symphony Orchestra and Graduate Wind Quintet. Since then he has orchestrated/arranged for the Ocean City Pops, Videri String Quartet, Gustavus Wind Orchestra, Dartmouth College Wind Ensemble, The Valley Winds, Mount Holyoke Symphony Orchestra, and Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, among others. His arrangement of Gabriela Ortiz’s “Kauyumari” has been performed by college bands across the country. He currently serves on the music faculty at Mount Holyoke College as the Clarinet Performance Instructor and Wind Chamber Music Coordinator.
