Written with the same intent as Benjamin Britten’s “The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra,” this piece of educational music serves as something new for conductors to program for young audiences. The longer original version is also available for rent from the publisher. The full version was commissioned for the Des Moines Symphony in celebration of Music Director Joseph Giunta’s fiftieth birthday.
