Songs of Heaven and Earth, by award-winning composer Laura Schwendinger, encompasses four settings of Ts’ai Yen’s epic work, “18 Verses from a Tatar Reed Whistle.” The composition is scored for mezzo-soprano, flute, clarinet, violin, cello, harp, piano and percussion, and was commissioned by The Theater Chamber Players of The Kennedy Center.
