Fisher Tull’s “Brevard Fanfare” for brass choir and percussion was commissioned by the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina as a part of its 50th anniversary celebration. The premiere performance was on the opening concert of the Brevard Music Center Orchestra, conducted by Henry Janiec on June 28, 1987. Fisher Tull was composer-in-residence at the Brevard Music Center during the summer of 1984. Since this fanfare was written for an orchestra brass section, the trumpet parts are in C.
