These two companion pieces provide the performers with experience in interpreting two contrasting styles. The mood of “Winter” is somber and sleepy to express the feeling of a cold and cloudy day. The mood of “Spring” is happy and carefree, as if released from the dullness of winter. Several options of instrumentation are included in this set, and the piece is also effective as a brass choir, using any or all of the parts provided.
