David Schiff accepted a commission by the Eugene Symphony to compose Prefontaine: A Symphonic Tribute, to honor the memory and celebrate the legacy of Steve Prefontaine. Conductor Francesco Lecce-Chong directed the premiere on June 4, 2022.
David Schiff created his Chamber Concerto No. 2: Vineyard Rhythms for Solo Violin and String Nonet for a commission by Chamber Music Northwest with the generous support of Susan Sokol Blosser. The first performance took place on July 28, 2022, at Reed College, Oregon.
