  • Martinu, Bohuslav

In 1932 while in Paris, Bohuslav Martin? (1890-1959) composed a cycle of four serenades. Being chamber works, Martin? found great difficulty in seeing them published. SERENATA No. 1, H. 217 (also SERENÁDA or SERENADE) premiered on January 29, 1940, in Prague. Instrumentation: Cl, Hn, 4Vn, Va (set as scored). Reprint edition.
