French composer Adrien Barthe (1828 – 1898) originally composed this piece for woodwind quintet, though it was published posthumously. This arrangement for woodwind choir by James Thornton maintains the oftentimes fugal nature of the original version, though with new colors. Dedicated to the University of New Mexico Woodwind Choir.
