This publication of Johann Baptist Wanhal’s “Sonata” makes available what is, at the present time, the earliest known clarinet sonata. Since the original score called for clarinet in C, it was decided to leave the clarinet part as it stood and transpose the piano part to Bb. This edition includes editorial markings from editor Lyle Merriman.
