Description: This three movement work explores a different rhythmic texture in each movement. The first is a mid-tempo piece with 8th and 16th note syncopations. Movement two is a kind of “perpetual motion” featuring a steady pulse of 16th notes with different figures juxtaposed over it. Movement three combines lilting 6/8 rhythms with hemiola-like 3/4 patterns in duple meters.
