A Remembrance

A REMEMBRANCE was commissioned by Mr. Toshioki Onoe, band director and English teacher at Numazu Higashi High School, Japan, as a memorial for his son Atsushi. In his loving memory, the parents decided to commission a small piece from their old acquaintance, Elliot Del Borgo. It was their wish that the piece reflect the vitality and spirit of their son rather than be a sad memorial to him. Accordingly, the work, cast in three main sections, depicts the joy and love of life that both Mr. Onoe and Keiko, his wife, remember of Atsushi.
